As therapists, we get asked many questions on a daily basis. Here we have collated a number of questions we get tased regularly in hope that it may answer any you have.

  • What can I expect during a Bowen treatment session?
    A full health history will be taken at the first appointment, so this may take up to 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes. Following a full consultation with your pracitioner, your treatment will begin. Unique breaks are incoporated into the treatmentv where you are left to rest. This gives the body time to re-balance itself.
  • What or how am I going to feel after a Bowen Therapy Session?
    Many people feel different things. Some have hot flushes where others may feel cold. After your first session, you will be given a aftercare sheet which outlines the best ways to help your body after a session.
  • How many Bowen Therapy sessions should I have?
    Everyone responds differently so there is no guarantee. However on average, the number of treatments required is around 3. Some problems need more treatments and some less. Many people find it beneficial to have top-up treatments thus preventing injury and maintaining a suppl, healthy and relaxed body.
  • What can Bowen therapy treat?
    Bowen Therpay can aid: pain managment, general aches and pains, hayfever, asthma, sciatica, headaches and stress or tension. It has also been said to aid things suc as quality of sleep, relaxation and improve the ability to fcous in adults. For children and babies, it can aid things such a colic, reflux, allergies and food intolerences, sleeping problems and anxiety.   • Is Bowen a form of massage?
    No, the moves are made on precise points of the body across muscle, fascia, nerves and tendons. The treatment can be performed through light clothing and no oils or prolonged pressure is used.
  • How long is a treatment?
    The first treatment includes a full health history consultation and will often be from 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes. All following sessions normally take an hour.
  • What should I wear?
    Bowen can be carried out through light clothing for example leggings and a cotton t-shirt or shorts and a t-shirt. Non-slip material such as silk is preferred.
  • How much is a session of Bowen with yourselves?
    A single treatment session is £60 for 1 hour. A full course usually lasts for 2 - 3 sessions - payments will be discussed on your first consultation with us.
